Welcome to UnW
Hello

20 years ago, I walked away from a project that was supposed to change my life. Today I find myself hundreds of miles away from that time and place, yet the path I find myself gazing into is strikingly familiar to one I left behind all those years ago.

About a year and a half ago, I had just gotten a major promotion that I had been working towards for several years. I was looking at an hour commute one way every day, and I started pondering ways I could make the travel entertaining and productive. So the seeds were planted. I'm glad I didn't pull the trigger at the time despite the strong pull to do so. My life was suddenly swept into a whirlwind that ended up being a shattering period of time. While I'm not shy about discussing it, I think documenting it in real time would have been raw and ugly. While those topics are going to be an inevitability here, that doesn't mean that an emotional meltdown needs to happen in front of a camera. The goal is self-discovery and healing, and sometimes that needs to happen in solitude.

It did, however, give me a year and a half to really think over what I wanted UnW to even be going forward. It also gave me a year and a half of intense emotions, internal reckoning, and a really big dive into my own shadows.

I'm not walking into this as a licensed therapist, only as someone weirdly intrigued by how faith, psychology, mythology, metaphysics, dreams, and nature all intersect. I'm someone perpetually curious about the world around me, with a strong desire to always grow and heal and adapt. I'm not making any claims of diagnoses or cures. I only know the path that I have taken and the tools and techniques that have worked for me. I can't attest to anything beyond my own lived experiences. That takes us to today- I'm here at this point now, the person I thought I was a year and a half ago shattered, in a time and place I never would have imagined ever being in- ready to pick up the camera and grab the steering wheel and go wherever feels right in my soul. And I realize one thing- that project I walked away from wasn't really abandoned. It was just tucked away and spread out across multiple notebooks, waiting until the time I was ready to come back to myself again. Everything I thought I knew about myself has been shattered- but my soul has always been UnWavering.
